Some questions if anyone has figured them out yet:

How do you I get a message to show up as having been read. I can click the "Mark all forums read" and then the new message picture goes away until there is a new message. But if I read the new message it still shows up that there are new messages even though there are not. What am I missing?

Is there a way to delete a thread or a post? Now if it isn't my thread or my post I would expect you to have to be an admin. But if it is my post or my thread is there a way to delete them?? Or do you lose ownership once you post?

You can't totally delete the thread, but you can go back and edit your post as long as you are logged in via the button on the main page.

Not quite sure about the read feature, here is some stuff form the help forum, I didn't get the links, but they are at the bottom of the help page:

What is "Mark All Read"?
For the complete directions on how to use the Mark All Read feature, click here.

top

Can I mark only one forum as read?
Yes. There is a Mark Forum Read link near the top of the main page of each forum which is similar to the Mark Forum Read link (see question above).

top

What is "Show New Only"?
For information on how to use the Show new only feature, click here.

Edited by: Magiw at: 5/2/03 10:14:31 am

Any of the message boards will, it's whether I go with annual membership and no hardware or go with one time flat fee adn set up the hardware myself. I could do the setup myself, but Road Runner doesn't do static IP's for home users, so the site would be impossible to host myself...the fee for this online isn't prohibitive enough for our volume of traffic to make me not want to do it!

I have to find out how some of these other boards get the extra smiley faces though, there are literally hundreds out there we should be able to use.

How much is a litte?
If we are all using this and its something we are actually going to use them I'd be willing to toss in a few bones. I'd need an anti-banning hammer though

What is a litte? Well, let me tell you! They base pricing on your usage at the time of sign up, so we will probably be around 5k viewings by the time the trial runs out. This would let us qualify for the 10k viewings a month price which is $30 for 6 months or $54 for a year...if for some reason we went over 10k viewings by the end of the month, the next plateau is 25k at $48/$86. I think we are pretty safe with the 10k level since we are only up to 1100 viewings at this time. I want to make sure we are totally satisfied with this first before we lock in.

I like that idea, ban people and they have to pay to be unbanned!

WE ARE PAYING FOR THIS!!!!!!!!!?????? If that is the case, then it needs to be spiced up a bit, dear. It is too bland! And may I ask what the little donation treasure box is in the beginning? Are people supposed donate to this?

So whats up with da titles. If you click on Active Members list people have titles like Who Am I? Member? Almost Member? Just warming up. I though that maybe it had something to do with posts but nope. Theory disproven. Anyone else care to wage a guess?

My guess regarding the pulsating orb next to this topic title would be that this topic has had a certain number of posts over a certain period of time. On second thought, all of these topics have been around for about the same amount of time. There goes that theory...
